Tanya J. Tyler is the pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Her sermons are on the church's website.
She is a 2006 graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky, and a 1981 graduate of Rockford College (now University) in Rockford, Illinois. She worked in the promotion/advertising creative services departments at the Lexington Herald-Leader, writing targeted advertising sections on a variety of topics, including weddings, college and health. She also had a blog, “Punchbuggy,” with Bluegrass Moms. She was the editor of local Lexington magazines “Health and Wellness” and “Living Well 60 Plus.” She has had articles published in numerous national publications and has contributed to different volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul. In 2002, Tanya was a two-day champion on the game show Jeopardy!
Kathie's note: Tanya (pronounced Tonya) and I were apartment-building neighbors back in the 1900s. I was a creative in an advertising agency and she was at the newspaper. We shared rides and stories. She's good people.
