For Episode 42 of “The Separation is in the Preparation” podcast I am joined by international opera singer Angel Joy Blue. Angel is one of the most important Sopranos in opera today. In 2019 she starred as Bess in George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. In 2018 Angel was the first African American Woman to sing the part of Violetta in Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the world famous Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy. Even with her international stardom it is Angel’s kindness and positivity that resonate with you the most when speaking with her. In our conversation we cover her beginnings in opera, how she tries to help and inspire up and coming opera singers, her strategies for conditioning and taking care of her voice, and so much more.
