Join Michelle and Oona Hanson (she/her), in this episode all about navigating hard body conversations with our adolescent children. This episode is for you if you have older kiddos, maybe even teens OR if you’re trying to imagine a future when you have older kiddos and you’re navigating conversations around social media, puberty, athletics and the team environment, body image issues, all while trying to preserve your child’s sense of self. This episode is filled with a lot of hope which is why I’ve saved it for the last episode of the year when diet talk is running high and parent morale around raising kids who have balanced relationships with their bodies might be running low. In this episode, Oona tells us about how it’s never too late.

The Body Competence Podcast explores what it means to be and raise body competent humans. In each episode Michelle and her guests talk about getting back in touch with our needs, wants, and desires that were suppressed by the power hierarchies of patriarchy, white supremacy, capitalism, anti-fat bias, ableism, and even our own families.
Michelle navigates topics like body positivity, body neutrality, cycle breaking, food neutrality and so much more. This podcast is for you if you are a human or parent trying to imagine a future without diet culture and other toxic intergenerational cycles but aren’t quite sure where to begin.
