Today's guest is Travis Murphy, CEO of Jetr Global Sports + Entertainment!

Travis spent the first part of his career working in and with governments around world for more than two decades. He’s served as a sports executive, an American diplomat, the Chief of Staff for a member of Congress and a few additional roles in between.

After his experience in government, he decided to use his skill set to connect government with sports and entertainment! Travis was the Senior Director of International Government Affairs for the NBA for the majority of the past decade, overseeing the league’s relationship with the Departments of State, Homeland Security and other government institutions.

Jetr Global Sports + Entertainment was born in 2022 where Travis resides as CEO. They provide consulting services to elite athletes, sports leagues, and entertainers around the globe.

Today we talked about:

  • growing up in Kansas loving baseball but playing all sports
  • his first job as the news director of a radio station
  • how journalism opened up a door to government and politics
  • joining the foreign service and working with Americans abroad
