Welcome to the Redwood Wellbeing podcast. My name is Alyssa Said and I'm a certified intuitive eating counsellor, body image coach, high school health teacher, and mother. Over a decade of struggling with poor body image and eating disorders, I knew I had to heal my relationship with food and my body—not only for myself, but for my future children.
I was determined to break the cycle of dieting and body loathing and raise my children to accept their bodies and follow their intuitive eating cues. Now as a mother, I've discovered that so many parents share the same concerns. They want to know how to best support their children's food and body image relationships.
This podcast is for those parents who seek non-judgmental, evidence-based, and practical support to navigate their children's journey towards intuitive eating and body confidence, no matter their age. Each week, we’ll explore the latest research, answer your questions, and provide actionable tips to help you support your child in developing a positive relationship with food and their body.
Some of the critical topics we’ll discuss include:
- Modeling Intuitive Eating
- Teaching Body Neutrality
- Navigating Sweet Food Preoccupations
- Reducing Fussy Eating
- Creating Positive Mealtime Atmospheres
- Talking About Your Child's Body
Whether you're searching for strategies to foster intuitive eating habits, understand how to counteract negative body image, or simply seeking to create a more supportive home environment, Redwood Wellbeing is here to provide the insights and guidance you need.
