However, Rose's career took a dramatic turn in 1989 when he was banned from baseball for life after an investigation found he had bet on MLB games while managing the Reds. Despite his Hall of Fame-worthy stats, the gambling scandal has kept him ineligible for induction. Rose remains a polarizing figure in baseball, with ongoing debates about his potential reinstatement and Hall of Fame consideration.
