76: What is Your Calling?
Manage episode 439302293 series 3459896
Hey friends! Welcome back to another episode of the "More Than Enough" podcast. Today, we're getting real about something many of us wonder about: What is our true calling? What’s that thing we’re meant to do, and how do we figure it out?
We kick things off by reflecting on what “calling” really means. We often get stuck on the idea that our calling has to be this big, elusive purpose or a specific job title. But here's the thing: while our individual callings may look different on the surface, they all share a common foundation. We’re called to be in relationship with God, to experience His love, and then to share that love with those around us. That’s our starting point.
From there, we unpack how this foundational calling shapes everything else. We talk about how God’s purpose for us is less about what we do and more about who we are becoming. Whether we’re a doctor, a parent, a plumber, or a missionary in a faraway land, our primary calling is to love God with everything we've got and love others well. And when we focus on that, the details of our “calling” become less about the specific job or role and more about how we live our lives with intention and love.
We also chat about the importance of work and how it’s woven into our calling. We explore how work, whether it’s in a job, a home, or even within ourselves, is part of God’s design for us. But we also talk about how work can become distorted—either by making it our whole identity or by avoiding it altogether. It’s about finding that balance where our work reflects God’s creativity and purpose in our lives.
And if you’re feeling a bit lost about what your specific calling might be, we share practical steps for tuning into what God is already doing in your life. Sometimes, our calling is right in front of us, in the gifts we’re already using or the passions we naturally pursue.
Join us in this honest and heartfelt conversation as we dig deep, share personal stories, and hopefully provide some clarity and inspiration. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey. We’re all figuring it out together, and the most important thing is to keep our eyes on God, trusting that He is enough for every step of the way.
Thanks for listening, and may you feel encouraged and blessed as you move forward this week!
