So often, "meritocracy" is presented as the antidote to wokeness. But is it? Is it possible that meritocracy is just the other side of the coin of liberalism compared to DEI? When civilization still existed a century before did the people pine for meritocracy? Or did they live in a different way?
Are there problems with meritocracy that people do not recognize? Is having a technocratic regime supervising your hiring decisions really what you want?
