To watch the original video visit: http://www.thehumanenterprise.com.au/2021/03/31/mentoring-with-mitch-episode-2-know-when-to-fold-them/ ---- In this episode, we explore when to "cut your people loose", "let them go", or the best I've ever heard is "free up their career". Here's the question: Whilst acknowledging the process and legal requirements of Fair Work Australia and the cost of recruitment & retraining; what are the triggers that should determine when a manager should continue to persist with an underperforming employee using a Performance Management Plan (or other techniques) to the possible detriment of the rest of the team, or decide to "cut them loose"? If you're truly committed to creating a human enterprise, no matter how underperforming the player, I believe there should always be a part of you that never feels too good about such decisions. How do you lessen that feeling? What do you need to consider before you make such a call? I give you B.A.S.K. - A simple tool from the human enterprise, which you can use to analyse performance gaps. It will also help you feel more certain you are making the "right" decision. The 'right' decision in regards to regulations, the 'right' decision for the individual and the 'right' decision for your team and the organisation. Enjoy. SUBMIT A QUESTION Due to the many requests I get for support of all types, this year we are introducing "Mentoring with Mitch".
