In part one of this episode, Program Director Mariam El-Menshawi of the California Victims Resource Center (CVRC), formerly the Victims of Crime Resource Center, comes on the podcast to share information about the various services provided by the CVRC. Mariam explains the different ways victims come to learn about the CVRC, and how they can reach out to contact the CVRC for more assistance. Next, Mariam discusses how the VCRC helps victim service providers by performing legal research and providing educational materials. The CVRC’s goals are to help victims understand their legal rights at each stage of the criminal justice process while helping victims access important services along the way.
