#008 Adopting a growth mindset and acting upon it
Manage episode 266527584 series 2680974
When you don’t succeed at something, do you tell yourself “not yet” or ”it’s just not for me”? If you are listening to this podcast, you will most likely fall into the first category and understand the concept of the growth mindset. But do you also act accordingly?
Although the concept of growth mindsets has – thanks to Carol S. Dweck - seen great momentum and understanding especially within the millennial generation, many still struggle to put the concept into practice. In this episode we discuss ways to change old habits that no longer serve you. The top 3 strategies you’ll hear about (amongst others):
- #1: Focus on continuous personal improvement
- #2: Find an accountability network
- #3: Improve your self-awareness
For everyone who has not read the book (yet), we highly recommend to order a copy of Mindset: New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck. She defines people with a growth mindset as students that believe that their abilities and intelligence can be developed with effort, learning, and enough persistence. People with a fixed mindset, on the other hand, believe that learning abilities, intelligence, and talents are fixed traits.
