On this edition of Free City Radio we hear a conversation with Mercy an organizer and outreach worker at the Prostitution Information Center (PIC) in Amsterdam. The interview was recorded in the meeting / conference room of the PIC community space in the heart of the red light district in Amsterdam. This interview highlights the current and ongoing struggle against gentrification in Amsterdam, a process which is having detrimental impacts on the work and livelihood of sex workers in Amsterdam. Currently PIC is organizing a public campaign against moves by the Amsterdam city government to close some red light district windows to create galleries and studios.
