Israel and Palestine have been locked in a conflict over who gets to call the disputed land their nation. This conflict can be traced back to the early 20th century when the ottoman empire fell and Britain gained control of the region. The holocaust and the Zionist movement in Europe caused a lot of Jews to emigrate to British Palestine. Recently, the hostility between the two countries have been on the rise and the instigator were the evictions that took place is Sheikh jarrah, a locality in Jerusalem.
