Conservatives love to use religion, primarily Christianity to reinforce and support tenets and institutions that pre-date Enlightenment values such as liberty, democracy, logic, and religious tolerance.

But how much of what the religious right claims is biblical is actually congruous with what Jesus himself discussed in the gospels, and how much of it is weaponizing religion to uphold outdated, harmful, and oppressive systems and behaviors towards others?

In my first full-length episode, I discuss a brief overview of conservatism as a political philosophy and how the early Christian church laid the foundation for proponents of conservative ideas.
