GESPONSERT
Hilde Mosse comes from one of the wealthiest families in Berlin and stands to inherit an enormous fortune. But she longs for something more meaningful than the luxurious lifestyle her family provides. So Hilde decides to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. As the Nazis take power in Germany and the Mosse family is forced to flee, Dr. Hilde Mosse lands in New York having nearly lost everything.. She finds her calling treating the mental health of Black youth – and the symptoms of a racist system. In addition to photographs, school records, and correspondence spanning Hilde Mosse’s entire lifetime, the Mosse Family Collection in the LBI Archives includes the diaries she kept between 1928 and 1934, from the ages of 16-22. Hilde’s papers are just part of the extensive holdings related to the Mosse Family at LBI. Learn more at lbi.org/hilde . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute, New York and Antica Productions. It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. This episode was written by Lauren Armstrong-Carter. Our executive producers are Laura Regehr, Rami Tzabar, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Our producer is Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Voice acting by Hannah Gelman. Please consider supporting the work of the Leo Baeck Institute with a tax-deductible contribution by visiting lbi.org/exile2025 . The entire team at Antica Productions and Leo Baeck Institute is deeply saddened by the passing of our Executive Producer, Bernie Blum. We would not have been able to tell these stories without Bernie's generous support. Bernie was also President Emeritus of LBI and Exile would not exist without his energetic and visionary leadership. We extend our condolences to his entire family. May his memory be a blessing. This episode of Exile is made possible in part by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future.…

×It's the final episode of the season but we’re back to decide the fate of the Chaminda Vase! If that wasn't exciting enough, we also decide our prosecco moment, re-write the rules of the One Day Cup, and explore an exciting opportunity at New Road. We also share our thoughts on next season and bring up the topic of mascots, again... Thanks for listening Pears fans.…
As the Pears T20 Blast campaign comes to an end, the boys are back to discuss the final few games including that wonderful win at Edgbaston. We also look ahead to the Metro Bank One Day Cup and chat about our prospects of staying in the first division of the county championship. If that wasn't enough... Jim gets a scatter-blast shock, Daz has to be censored in Worcestershire Watch, Pete has an offer for Gareth Roderick, and we have a celebration themed AOB! You can find other episodes of Pear-shaped here and our Spotify playlist here .…
Welcome to Pear-shaped, the mini pod bringing you extra laughs, arguments, and general nonsense! There was a musical themed AOB during the Boundary Rope Of Sausages episode, so this month's Pear-shaped is a chat about team songs! What should our team song be? What do we think other teams should sing or walk out to? You know, all the important questions... (If you want to listen to the songs we picked, and other songs we have mentioned on the podcast so far, check out our Spotify playlist)…

It's been a challenging time for Worcestershire off the field but an impressive start on it. We're back for another season of On A Pear as we try to find some joy at a time of adversity. As well as discussing our start to the County Championship season, Darrell opens the batting, Jim has a theory about beautiful shots, and the boys discuss a question made famous by The Clash...…
We’re back and it’s the final episode of the season! Welcome to Pear-shaped, the mini pod bringing you extra laughs, arguments, and general nonsense! As we were a little serious during the This Time, It’s Personnel episode, we have salvaged the audio from our failed June pod to bring you a Pear-shaped inspired by crisps and The Hundred! Are Skips better than Hula Hoops? Are McCoys better than Butterkist? You know, all the important questions... Warning: Episode contains audio of Jim and Darrell eating…
We're back for episode three of season three! After a false start in June, the boys return for a no frills episode to discuss Ashley Giles, transfers, the ICEC report, and our recent trip to Hampshire. There is also a membership themed AOB and our annual chat about the mascot race. We'll add extra jokes and jingles next time... promise...…
Welcome to Pear-shaped, the mini pod bringing you extra laughs, arguments, and general nonsense! There was no time for AOB during the Two Pods In One episode, so this month's Pear-shaped is our discussion about picturesque grounds! What is the threshold for a ground to be classed as picturesque? What is worst thing we have seen at a cricket ground? You know, all the important questions...…
It's episode two of the season and this one is a pod of two halves! After a run of poor performances in red ball cricket, the boys gather in Pete's kitchen to discuss our batting woes. With the Pears then deciding to beat the Foxes, Jim and Pete return to the kitchen to discuss a much needed victory and end the pod with a healthy dose of positivity. Sport is great! Isn't it?…
Welcome to Pear-shaped, a new mini pod bringing you extra laughs, arguments, and general nonsense! During The Austerity Pod , the boys disused some daft football phrases and whether they could apply to cricket. Can a bowler take the perfect hat-trick? Can a team park the bus? What is the cricketing equivalent of a cold wet night in Stoke? You know, all the important questions...…
It's On A Pear 3.0! The boys are back in a new location to talk all things cricket. In this episode, we discuss the winter news, ins and outs, and any major rule changes. We also review an easy win against Derby and incorrectly (it turns out) predict the match against Durham. If that wasn't enough, there is also a rap and a football focused AOB.…

The three wise (ish) men dash through the winter's news before the moment you've all been waiting for... the pear shaped quiz of 2022! Dazza Paxman battles a sore throat to host this year's Champagne Superover, as Pete and Jim aim for the maximum, 36 runs!
It's the final episode (almost) of season two and it's broadcast from New Road! As the pears wrap-up an easy victory against the league leaders, the boys are back to hand out their end of season awards. We also have some player interviews, discuss more ECB proposals, and bring you the final Worcestershire Watch of 2022. If that wasn't enough, Daz tells us about an interesting weekend and Pete becomes and evil genius... Our thanks to Joe Tromans from WCCC for helping us with this episode. See you in December for another pear shaped quiz!…
It's the August episode of On A Pear and, sadly, we are back to discuss another difficult tournament. Aside from the Royal London One-Day Cup performances, we discuss recent updates from the ECB, some ins and outs at New Road, and the new Director of Cricket role. We also rave about the Women's Rapids, discuss possible contenders for the Chaminda Vase (our player of the season award), Pete and Jim get a bit grumpy, and Daz tells us about his recent batting performances...…
