GESPONSERT
Anne Mahlum built and sold Solidcore, a national fitness empire — and now she’s asking what really matters. After achieving financial freedom following her $100M exit, she’s thinking deeply about what it means to live a rich life. From love and legacy to family, philanthropy and mentoring, she’s considering how to spend, give and structure her wealth to make an impact while she’s still alive. In this episode of What Should I Do with My Money? , host Jamie Roô brings Anne together with Victoria, a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor, to explore values-based wealth planning, giving while living and how post-exit founders can reinvent their purpose for the next chapter of their life. For more information about this episode and the topics covered, check out our episode page and explore how you can connect with a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor . Tax-loss harvesting: IRS rules stipulate that if a security is sold by an investor at a tax loss, the tax loss will not be currently usable if the investor has acquired (or has entered into a contract or option on) the same or substantially identical securities 30 days before or after the sale that generated the loss. This so-called "wash sale" rule is applied with respect to all of the investor's transactions across all accounts. Technology stocks may be especially volatile. Artificial intelligence (AI) is subject to limitations, and you should be aware that any output from an IA-supported tool or service made available by the Firm for your use is subject to such limitations, including but not limited to inaccuracy, incompleteness, or embedded bias. You should always verify the results of any AI-generated output. Because this strategy expects to hold a concentrated portfolio of a limited number of securities, a decline in the value of these investments would cause the portfolio's overall value to decline to a greater degree than that of a less concentrated portfolio. Equity securities may fluctuate in response to news on companies, industries, market conditions and general economic environment. Companies paying dividends can reduce or stop payouts at any time. Real estate investments are subject to special risks, including interest rate and property value fluctuations, as well as risks related to general and economic conditions. Private equity funds typically invest in securities, instruments, and assets that are not, and are not expected to become, publicly traded and therefore may require a substantial length of time to realize a return or fully liquidate. They typically have high management, performance and placement fees which can lower the returns achieved by investors. They are often speculative and include a high degree of risk. Investors can lose all or a substantial amount of their investment. They may be highly illiquid with significant lock-up periods and no secondary market, can engage in leverage and other speculative practices that may increase volatility and the risk of loss, and may be subject to large investment minimums. Any type of continuous or periodic investment plan does not assure a profit and does not protect against loss in declining markets. Since such a plan involves continuous investment in securities regardless of fluctuating price levels of such securities, the investor should consider his/her financial ability to continue his/her purchases through periods of low price levels. Asset Allocation and diversification do not assure a profit or protect against loss in declining financial markets. When interest rates rise, bond prices fall; generally the longer a bond's maturity, the more sensitive it is to this risk. Bonds may also be subject to call risk, which is the risk that the issuer will redeem the debt at its option, fully or partially, before the scheduled maturity date. The market value of debt instruments may fluctuate, and proceeds from sales prior to maturity may be more or less than the amount originally invested or the maturity value due to changes in market conditions or changes in the credit quality of the issuer. Bonds are subject to the credit risk of the issuer. This is the risk that the issuer might be unable to make interest and/or principal payments on a timely basis. I finally saw the big boss at the end of the ADHD journey- I had to pass all the small bosses and side quests before I reached this destination and I was honestly afraid he would tell me I couldn’t have treatment. But, alas I’ve been offered a life line - methylphenidate. The treatment starts tomorrow…
Dating in your 20s was so much easier than in your 30s…It used to be a simple matter if someone liked you or not! Now I have to consider if they want kids, prenups, mortgages, existing kids, per allergies.. mbti? I also reflect on two very different stroke patients this week. One who died and one who survived despite having all the risk factors.. A long reflective episode!…
This episode will explore my process of selling my ADHD diagnosis with the psychologist and what tests they did on me. I am now questioning my entire life and feel like I am having a identity crisis :(
Working with the stroke team and what I learnt so far …
Saw my first cardiac arrest in public space today.. fancy ECPR and ECMO Machines.. super fancy. I went on 16 first dates in one night! You bet this introverted girl was tired AF. I share what I learnt from this experience, and maybe dating apps don’t suck all that much after all.

Do I have ADHD? I guess we will have to wait to find out! An update on what’s been happening in the last few weeks… I see my gynaecologist for my post surgery appointment in which I may need an iron infusion…Then my gastroenterologist recommended me to get tested for lactose intolerance! I chat about my recent trip to Adelaide over Christmas. I also finally talk about how I want to be less an empath and more selfish this year . I go through another birthday and some traumatic times which leads me back to another mid-life crisis.
It’s probably been about two years or so since I first heard about endometriosis and how I would be able to get it diagnosed. It was a long journey to get to where I am today to get answers to my why my periods were so heavy, so painful, and left my iron deficient. I finally was told post surgery, you do have endometriosis after all and hence that explains the pain, bloating, and heavy bleeds. I go through my experience in the private hospital sector, which wasn’t as pleasant as I had hoped it would be.…
How do we decide what is worth spending money on? Why does everyone seem richer than me? I explore what it means to be grateful for what you have and not to look around and compare. Comparison is the thief of Joy or something like that (pun not intended). Also, I literally go through a whole day off with me.😂…
So my neurologist just casually asked if I plan to have kids, because he forgot to say I have to be off my medications for at least-6 months. I’ve been on o medication for over a year now…🙂↕️. Thanks for helping me solidify my decision to not have kids as I don’t want my migraines back😡
