For centuries, members of the B’doul Bedouin tribe lived in the caves around the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. Then, in the 1980s, the government forced the tribe to move in the name of preserving the geological site for tourists. But if the residents are forced to leave, and if their heritage has been permanently changed, then what exactly is being preserved? She works with staff, faculty, parents, trustees, and administrators in creating an integrated program to further the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Tamisha earned her B.A. in Studio Art and Comprehensive Education from the University of Richmond and her M.Ed. in Family and Marriage Counseling from The College of William & Mary in Virginia, her home state. Her artistic and counseling background informs her recognition of the power of storytelling and her belief that movement and art are integral to healing. Tamisha currently serves on the People of Color in Independent Schools (POCIS) Board of Directors where she helps to coordinate networking and professional development opportunities for Northern California Bay Area educators and school communities. Lisa Diane (Branch) Finklea - Class of '87 From Lisa: I am a native of Richmond. I attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Richmond Community High School in 1987. I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in May 1991, with a B.S. in Accounting. I was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy, November 1991, and served on active duty until August 1998. I earned my Juris Doctor from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, at the College of William and Mary, May 2001. For the past sixteen years, I have worked as a senior tax analyst for the Virginia Department of Taxation. My hobbies include dancing, acting, and modeling. I also enjoy volunteering for various organizations. I have a son, Christopher, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
