Whew, the first triple game week post-split is over, and we’re on hand to debrief after a hectic week. We’ve had 3 different teams at the top of the table, with Hibs ending the week 2 points clear. We discuss the mid-week draw with Celtic, and Kelsey Daugherty’s unbelievable performance. Before looking to Hibs’ brilliant win over Rangers. We also look at City v Rangers mid-week, really just to admire Kirsty Howat. In the Bottom 6, we follow Montrose as they won both games in dramatic fashion, to bring them within 5 points of safety. The SWPL 2 saw another inspired Lucie Burns performance as Killie beat Accies to move within 2 points of the title. Meanwhile in the relegation fight, a late Rossvale winner moved them to being all but safe. Still lots of football to play, and the SWPL continues to dish out storylines. All of that debriefed in one hour. The only place for full, independent, coverage of the SWPL. So please subscribe and share. Available now on all platforms…
We’re back with another edition of the HYT podcast. This week covers all the action from the Edinburgh and Glasgow Derbies as the title race in the SWPL 1 continues to twist and turn. In the bottom half, we look to Spartans dramatic win v Aberdeen. Leaving only 1 point between 7th and 9th. Plenty still to play for. Dundee United are also officialy relegated, and we ask Queen’s Park for some clarity on the future of the Women’s team. In the SWPL 2 we discuss Accies dropping point again, this time to Boroughmuir Thistle. This title race still has a long way to go. Especially as Kilmarnock put on a show with their victory over St Johnstone. In the relegation fight Rossvale picked up what could be a vital point, as they play fellow strugglers Ayr Units this coming weekend. All that and more, covering all things Scottish Women’s Football and all in under an hour. Available now on all major platforms.…

A big week across the SWPL, with major results across all 20 teams. Starting in the relegation fight, Spartans come back from 2-0 down to beat Montrose, and move 6 clear of the relegation spots. Aberdeen see off a waining Partick Thistle to move into 7th, starting their push for next year already. At the top end of the Table, more issues for Celtic as they fall 9 points off the top. With City continuing the hunt after another strong and composed performance. In the SWPL 2, St Johnstone beat Ayr thanks to another fine performace from young Olivia Hurrel. Basically guaranteeing the Perth sides safety. Conisgning Ayr and Rossvale to fight out for the relegation spots. At the top of the Table, another great performance from Accies formidable due of Sophie Townsley and Josi Giard saw off a strong Livingston side. Currenlty taking suggestiong for their strike partnership nick name.. G & T ? We also chat through the most recent SWNT squad, including the U23s. All packed in to a one hour podcast. The first weekend of the Split in SWPL 1 did not dissapoint. First we speak about Celtic’s capitulation against Hearts. Set in the context of Elena Sadiku’s comments about ‘Mentality’ it looks like things are going badly wrong for the reigning champions. We discuss the wider issues, as well as the tactical troubles. Can they bring it back from here? Then we look to Petershill asCity and Hibs played out a dramatic fixture, with Hibs scoring right at the death to move 2 clear at the top of the table. Will Matt finally accept Hibs are one of the favourites (if not THE favourite) for the title? Lastly in the SWPL 1 we look at the bottom 6, as Montrose pulled out a brilliant performance to beat Thislte 2-0. We discuss Holly Daniel’s performance, as well as Montrose’s desire to prove that they are more than good enough for the SWPL 1. As well as looking to Thistle who seem rudderless whilst the Brian Graham saga drags on. In the SWPL 2, attention turns to Hamilton who are back in fine form, and make their final push for the title and promotion back to the SWPL. Sophie Townsley putting in a 5 star performance. The title still is no where near over but a few more performances like that and the champagne will be on ice. At the other end of the table, the relgation fight is going to the wire. Just one point seperating Ayr and Rossvale, between automatic relegation and a shot at the play-off. Neither team look capable of picking up many points, but with a game between each other coming soon it could all turn on its head. All that and much more, in under an hour. A big week for Scotland, as we began life after the disastorus Pedro Martinez Losa era came to an end. A familiar face in Mick McArdle taking charge, and giving the squad a much needed refresh. Two games in Nations League A for us to digest. Unable to get a win, but was this camp an overall success? Following this camp, the all important question is what is next? No news on a permanent manager and more League A games to come. We discuss what we want to see from the SWNT in the future and how we get there - including a philisophical discussion on what it means to be a ‘National’ team. What a hectic week in the SWPL. From a top of the table clash, to a 95th minute penatly in the relegation battle of SWPL 2. Once again our leagues gave us everything. First of all we cover the main news, inclduing Linda Motlhalo returning to Glasgow City, Erin Cuthbert’s Injury, and our new Kit (that we won’t be wearing at the Euros). In the SWPL, we begin with Motherwell seeing off Aberdeen to secure their spot in the Top 6 for the first time. Then we discuss the title clash from friday night as Glasgow City and Celtic played out a 2-2 draw. This includes an all timer ‘hot take’ from Matt, which is sure to rile up Celtic fans (including Peter). In the SWPL 2, we look to one of the most dramtic games of the season. As 2 goals went in during added time as Rossvale and Ayr drew 2-2. Bringing the relegation battle even tighter, with just 4 point seperating the bottom 3. At the top of the table, Accies brushed aside Gartcairn with Josi Giard now becoming Accis top goalscorer AND top assister of all time. Living Legend. But who was missing from Gartcairn’s Squad?… All the chat from across Scottish Women’s Football, rounded up in under an hour. Every week on the How’s Your Touch Podcast. Available everywhere now, for free. Please make sure to share with as many people as you can to spread the SWPL agenda!…
This week saw the first SWNT squad since PML’s departure. Interim coach Mick McArdle rang the changes, and we’re on hand to discuss what we like about it. Feels good to be optimisitic again! In SWPL 1, we focus on Hearts 1-1 Thistle, as the Jambos slip up again and lose pace with the top 4. Whilst Thistle struggle to keep up with Motherwell in the fight for that 6th spot. We then look to Motherwell who blew Spartans away beating them 4-1. Another impressive performance from Paul Brownlie’s team, moving on from Laura Berry seemlessly. We discuss their credentials, and if they deserve more credit then they have been getting. In SWPL 2, Gartcairn are back with another question of the week. What is your footballing ick? We then talk about the football, as Boroughmuir Thistle caught Accies sleeping to beat them 3-1. Courtesy of some brilliant goals from their talented strike force. Are Accies slipping up and leaving the door open for Killie? Finally looking to the relegation fight there, as Ayr picked up a point. With a big game v Rossvale coming up it could be vital. All that and much much more, covering all the action across the SWPL all in one 50 minute episode. You won’t get this level of coverage anywhere else (and its free!). So please make sure to like, subscribe and share! Episode available on all the usual platforms now. Just search How’s Your Touch.…
The Scottish Cup remains the best cup competition in the work, goals were flying everywhere, while a Duck with shoes paraded around Petershill. You will not get this level of entertainment anywhere else. First we focus on Glasgow City beating Celtic. Knocking Celtic out of another cup competion. Plenty of question marks over Elena Sadiku’s team selection and Celtic’s transfer strategy. And plenty of praise for how City reacted to a poor 45 minutes, and we pick out Brenna Lovera who played - possibly - her best game as a City player. Then there was an upset - of sorts - as SWPL 2 Boroughmuir Thistle, beat SWPL 1 Dundee United 3-1. Regular listeners and followers might not be too surprised by this result, but nonetheless it is a great result for Thistle. Dundee United though continue to struggle on and off the pitch.. Aberdeen’s new signings and rejuvunated spirit saw off high flying Accies. Before we finally look to arguably the game of the round as St Johnstone beat Elgin 4-2. A bumper crows, the St Johnstone owner in attandance and a Norwegian superstar playing for Elgin. This game had it all. Mia Lunberg made our cup team of the round, and the Norwegian striker has been having a ball up in Elgin. Yet another bit of magic of the cup. As always, podcast available on all the favourite platforms. Please make sure to like, follow and share. The only place to get complete scottish women’s football content for free and all in one place.…
This week on the podcast we cover off all the latest news, including the big transfers at Celtic, Courtney Stewart’s retirement from football, as well as some of the chat from down south. In the SWPL 1, we chat about the 2 games at the top of the table. Celtic convincingly beating Hearts (and presumably Queen’s Park) to go top of the table. As well as Hibs dominant diplsay, beating City 3-1. That puts Hibs 3 points off the top, and have won (convincingly) 3 in a row against top 5 opposition. We take a longer look at what has made Hibs so good, and why they have the best record in the top 5. In the SWPL 2 Hamilton overcame a solid Kilmarnock display, beating them 5-2. With their young team putting on another great display. Coupled with the experience of players like Josie Giard, Hamilton have soared to what seems like an inevitable title and promotion back to SWPL 1 at the first time of asking. All that and plenty other chat and gossip across Scottish Women’s Football. The only place to get weekly full coverage. For free and in only 45 minutes. Make sure to follow, subscribe, like and comment. Available on all platforms now.…
A very busy week across Scottish Women’s Football. Starting off with the announcement of a new interim manager for the SWNT ahead of the Nations League games in February. We then discuss Scotland legend Jen Beattie’s retirement from football, as well as covering all the Transfer news and gossip across the SWPL. As Rangers sign yet another goalkeeper, and Aberdeen start making moves. Also we discuss those rumours about Caitlin Hayes and Abi Harrison. We then discuss the small matter of the SWPL Cup semi-finals, as both Hibs and Rangers progressed is some pretty tight affairs. Finally, we move attention to the SWPL 2, and in particular Lucie Burns once again dropping an absolute banger of a performance. Chipping the keeper twice. Our favourite young forward from Ayrshire doing it again. All that and much more, all covered iin 45 minutes. The only place to get all your SWPL news. Avaiable now on all your fav platforms.…
It’s the first full week back in the SWPL, and we pick things up with all the same drama and chaos as before the break. Big news story this week has been rumours circulating (by Hayes’ agent) that clubs are interested in the Celtic and Ireland defender. We discuss the weight of the rumour as well as other transfer comings and goings. In the SWPL 1, we discuss Celtic beating Thistle, with Elena Sadiku trying out her new system - tried and tested in Gran Canaria. As well as wondering why Thistle aren’t creating more against the ‘top 3’. Then we focus on Motherwell beating Dundee United 6-1. A very impressive performance from the young team, but more misery for Dundee United. In the SWPL 2 Kilmarnock won both their games over the week to close the gap to Hamilton, although Hamilton had their game called off in contreversial circumstances. How’s Your Touch is still the only place to get all your SWPl news, so make sure your following, liking, subscribing and sharing.…

How's Your Touch Podcast

It has been an incredibly busy week in the world of Scottish Women’s Football. Pedro Martinez Losa was relieved of his duties as Scotland Manager. Meanwhile, Craig Joyce has left Queen’s Park, after they have struggled to pick up points in the SWPL 1. With Suzanne Lappin (Grant) taking on an assistant role in the club. On a wider scale FifPro released their 2024 Women’s Player Workload Monitoring report . We discuss the impact of this report on the SWPL, and some of the work already being done in Scotland to address it. Finally, we discuss the announcement of UEFA’s 2nd tier competetion the ‘Europa Cup’. Celtic’s UWCL campaign came to a dissapointing end, with another 3-0 loss. Ending the campaing with 0 points, and only scoring one goal. Whilst there were some good performances, overall we can’t help but be dissapointed by their showing. Looking to the SWPL, we discuss Glasgow City’s demolition of Rangers, including Brenna Lovera being a pressing machine and Rangers’ lack of attacking threat. We then cast an eye to the relegation battle, as Dundee United picked up their first win of the season. In the SWPL 2, we talk through Accies brilliant come back against Gartcairn. Insprired by Josi Giard (again). Before again casting an eye to the relegation fight, as Ayr United pulled off a brilliant result to beat Rossvale 3-1. Post winter break the SWPL 2 is undoubtedly going to pop off.…
We’re back after the international break! Despite the week off, Scotland’s loss and continued fall out is still just as raw. Pedro Martinez Losa still has the job, and we are starting to get real nervous about the future of our national team. We also cover the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup. As Hearts knock out Hibs, City see of Thistle, and a couple small upsets. We also discuss Celtic and Rangers’ big scorelines. Why didn’t they start more academy players, and what does that mean for Scottish football? Finally, we look to The Scotsman’s ‘30 best players in the SWPL’ ( read here ). We got to give our vote to the list, so we talk through the list. Who is deserving, who missed out, and all the other discourse that comes with it. What a week across the SWPL. Always put on a show before a brief intermission. We talk through Thistle earning a draw v Hibs, bringing back some of what made them so successfull previously. Then we look at Motherwell flying into the top 6. Attention turns to SWPL 2, and the Derby (at least peter thinks so) between Rossvale and Gartcairn. Finally, we look at the blockbuster clash between Accies and Boroughmuir Thistle. As Accies lose their 100% record thanks to incredible drama at the death! We then have a chat about the SWNT playoff final against finland, and discuss a listener question about club ownership to grow the game. All that in under 50 minutes. A big week of action, culminating in lots of big derby clashes across the SWPL. First of all we talk about Celtic facing Chelsea in the UWCL, and how big a jump is it really? Then we discuss all the action from the weekend derbies. Discussing Celtic being very good at creating chances for all the wrong people, and Rangers new set up getting the best out of them. Then there’s the small issue of the Edinburgh Derby, with a huge 3 points for Hibs, and then Aberdeen get their first points of the Scott Booth era. In SWPL 2, Boroughmuir Thistle recorded an impressive win over Kilmarnock, thanks to a very strong Cara Borthwick performance. Also, Accies extend their lead, and Rossvale finally win. Make sure to follow and subscribe etc. so you always get all the content!…
Quarter finals of the SWPL Cup gave us lots of goals, tactical shifts, and a penalty shoot out for good measure. Hibs saw off Partick Thistle in excellent style. Helped by a second half hat-trick from Kathleen McGovern. That will have given Grant Scott a headache... Celtic faced Glasgow City in the standout fixture of the draw. A proper cup tie, going all the way to penalties before Celtic come away victorious. A few question marks over where Caitlin Hayes, they have been somewhat answered now by her return in the UWCL (Wednesday night). Also, Rangers turned Motherwell over, and Scott Booth has led a struggling Aberdeen side to a national cup semi final.…

A special episode this week giving all our attention to Scotland's playoff semi-final victory over Hungary. Thankfully nothing spooky for Halloween! We discuss the nerves of the first leg, and Pedro testing the Scottish psyche by being so confident. Then replay the near perfect performance of the second leg at Easter Road. Before looking ahead to how we repeat this to beat Finland in the final. Finally we discuss the U-23 performances and how that looks to be bearing fruit. Another exciting week in the SWPL made even more hectic thanks to Storm Ashley. First we debrief Celtic losing to Madrid in the UWCL. Then in the SWPL 1 we discuss how Hibs earned a result against Rangers, and how Rangers struggles continue. Another rollercoaster week, as always. Maybe this is just a never ending coaster that Peter and Matt are stuck on for eternity. Either way we are here to try and make sense of it all. We chat through Glasgow City and Rangers' 1-1 draw at Ibrox, as well as Celtic's dreadful showing at Hearts, and importantly how good Hearts were. Wrapping up SWPL 1 as Aberdeen get their first league win in 7. In SWPL 2 we discuss the late goal spree between Livingston and Boroughmuir Thistle. As well as the major implications of only having one promotion spot. Finally we talk through the SWNT squad for our all important play off match v Hungary.…
Another long week of Scottish football action. Starting last week with the Old Firm, as both Celtic and Ranger's main issues were on show and cancelled each other out (again) Then there was the full round of SWPL fixtures, as Glasgow City keep on marching (and getting stronger), whilst Hibs and Hearts keep on the heels. Spartans look to be getting stronger, and the less said about Aberdeen and Dundee United the better... We then cover Celtic's first UWCL game which saw them lose out to FC Twente, which left Peter a little frustrated by Celtic not showcasing their full ability when they had the chance. As always please make sure to like, follow, share and subscribe. For the best Scottish Women's Football content.…
This week on the pod, Peter and Matt very much get off on the wrong foot starting with a good bit of bickering over Celtic and Elena Sadiku's tactics. Then into discussing the results from the SWPL RO16, and look ahead to the quarter finals. Finally we have another discussion over a very difficult trivia Q. Can you name 2 Scottish players who have played for 3 different Scottish clubs in the Champions league? There are players we didn't mention!…
Another week has passed and there are 7 more days of drama and mischief to catch up on. Celtic won their first leg of their UWCL tie, with the second leg being played today (Thursday 26th). They are in pole position to go through, but what could slip them up? Meanwhile, in league business, Brenna Lovera is back creating goals at Petershill, Rangers see of Hearts, and Thistle look a bit more like themselves. In the SWPL 2, Lucie Burns put on a show. Once again proving our talent id is on point. And Accies continue their professional march towards returning to the SWPL 1. There is also a wee bit of trivia in the middle, thanks to follower @Chris_Meikle for the very hard question!…
