When you teach spelling, you want to start with phonogram cards, move to sound circles (with the words you will teach) and then use plastic letters (with those same words). Some students move at faster pace and some need words broken into scaffolds when spelling them. Dr. Marianne also uses her spelling word lists to do syllable deletion exercises.
