Saumil Majmudar is the Co-founder, CEO, and Managing Director of Sportz Village. In this episode of "The Resilient Entrepreneur" podcast with Dhruti Shah, Saumil shares his compelling vision to get 100 million children to play and win through Sportz Village.
Founded in 2003, Sportz Village collaborates with schools, academies, parents, brands, CSR donors, and governments to integrate holistic child development into sports programs. The initiative has positively impacted over 700,000 children across 2,000 schools in 22 states of India.
Saumil holds a B-Tech degree from IIT Bombay, a PGDM from IIM-Bangalore, and a Basic Mountaineering Degree from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. He is also a Black Belt in Karate. Saumil’s passion for sports and the outdoors is evident in his regular activities, including karate, Himalayan treks, badminton, football, and cricket. His recent book, “Get Kids to Play,” co-authored with Vijay Krishnamurthy, is gaining acclaim for its practical toolkit for engaging children in physical activity.
Saumil’s belief that “If your vision is compelling, good people will come your way” reflects his commitment to achieving his goals and making a significant impact. His efforts to encourage outdoor activities are a valuable counter to today’s screen addiction, promoting both physical and mental well-being.
