In this episode we are speaking with Professor David O’ Brien to dissect the main issues around inequalities in the creative industries form a robust research perspective. Bringing together the academic and how it relates to the lived experiences of the students we are working with.
David O’ Brien is professor of cultural and creative industries at the University of Manchester. He has published extensively on inequality in the creative economy, including his latest book “Culture is bad for you’. Which is co-authored by Dr. Mark Taylor and Dr. Orian Brook.
He is also co-author on the Creative Majority Report on what works to support diversity in the creative industries. Published by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Creative Diversity.
