EP 10 Exploring Postproduction by Nicolas Bourriaud
Manage episode 349358649 series 3210501
Here's a fun discussion with myself on some of the notes I took and interesting ideas that I ran across during my read-through of "Postproduction: Culture as Screenplay: How Art Reprograms the World". Nicolas Bourriaud is a prolific art curator and critic, this book looks into the recent phenomena of artists (beginning in the late '90s) which around that time began taking cultural artifacts and incorporating them into the works that they were creating. Bourriaud noticed that this was a completely new practice in the art realm and in turn discusses what it means to be original in a world where "everything's already been done" and what it may look like to criticize reality with reality.
