As international students who have taken very non-traditional paths to medicine, we understand many of the struggles international students and immigrants face on this path. We know the struggle with choosing an undergraduate major, maintaining a good GPA, working part-time on campus, and gathering volunteering experiences. We understand how frustrating it can be to find a physician to shadow and get research and clinical experiences in a place where you have very few connections and support.
