Is it Too Late to Become a VTuber? [ Intro Episode ]

Hello Virtual Friends! My name is Syafire, and I will be your host for this brand new podcast I am launching, called Virtual Voices. Together we will explore the universe and hear what some of our favorite content creators have to say about what it’s like to be virtual.

You can expect to hear from all kinds of virtual guests throughout this series. However, in some of our episodes, it will be just you and I exploring the virtual world together.
Today, I want to start off with an extremely pressing question that I have been getting asked quite often. And that question is, is it too late to become a VTuber? For those who do not know what VTubers are, VTubers are virtual characters that provide some sort of value and entertainment online. There are usually real people who act like these characters as a means to connect on a deeper level with an audience either through recorded content, or a live audience.

When we think about becoming content creators in the year 2021, we often ask ourselves, is it too late? Isn't there someone already doing this? Better yet are they doing it better than me? How can I offer something unique to the platforms?
My answer to the question of “Is it too late to become a VTuber” is. No. It’s never too late to start something you love.

When you think about where you want to be in life 10 years from now, where do you picture yourself? What kind of life do you want? If you see yourself being a content creator then of course it is worth it. Anything worth doing is going to be a bumpy, yet exciting and long adventure,
YouTube has been around for 16 years, and there are several creators successfully building a channel from 0 right now. I only started YouTube about 8 months ago and I am close to hitting 7,000 subscribers.
So ask yourself again. Is it too late to become a VTuber? No, it is far from too late to become a VTuber. We are still in the early growth and stages of the VTuber era. In fact, our world is consistently evolving and developing into a more technological world. This means that VR tech will only continue to increase, giving creators and businesses time to create a brand with VR and augmented reality products.
Think about it, several companies have mascots that are recognized across the globe. For example, Wendys has an adorable mascot named Wendy that people have fallen in love with. Don’t you think it would do their brand wonders if they hired an actor to play as a “VTuber Wendy” to promote their brand while streaming a game or talking live with a chat? With the natural flow of branding and marketing, VTubing is not going anywhere. It is here to stay. And I only see it growing further and developing even more.
Please do not be discouraged if it takes you months, or years to build out your ideal business as a creator. It will take time to find your Virtual Voice, and that is more than okay because it is all a part of the process.
