We begin with Senior Prank Night, where our incoming seniors are finally able to do dumb shit like put mouse traps all over the floor of a classroom, TP the pool, and superglue Alaric's desk shut. Or so they think. They are interrupted by the return of Klaus, and he wastes no time forcing Tyler into potential Hybridism, forcing Bonnie to find out why his previous attempts at making Hybrids didn't work, and forcing Stefan to turn off his humanity. Meanwhile, Matt has to deal with the Vicki situation, and he does so by drowning himself, hoping that Bonnie will remember her CPR training well enough to save him.
It turns out that the original witch had a loophole to the hybrid curse: it would take a doppelganger to break it with her death, but then it would take her blood to make the hybrids. So, by saving Elena's life, all they did was give Klaus the key to making more hybrids AND Jenna still had to die. Great plan, guys. This all worked out so well.
