World On Fire
Manage episode 405893505 series 3542044
Four out of five wildfires are started by people, but dry weather, drought, and strong winds can create a recipe for the perfect disaster. So what has happened this past year? Here is a list of some of the largest fires throughout the world.
- Alberta, Canada – March 2023 and still burning. 17 new fires already this year (2024).
- Athens, Greece – July 2023
- Lahaina, Maui – August 8-11, 2023
- Tenerife, Spain – August 2023
- Via Carlos Paz, Argentina – October 2023
- Buenos Aires, Argentina – January 2024
- Vina del Mar, Chile – Feb 2-5, 2024
- Canadian, Texas – March 2024
Usually, it takes two or three months to completely extinguish a large wildfire if there is rain and humidity, yet Canada has had the worst of it with over 100 fires still lingering.
We covered the Maui fires extensively last August and since then we have watched the wildfires much more closely.
- Scorched Earth – Maui Under Attack
- Maui Land Grab
- Domestic Terrorist Attack
- Hawaii: Statehood to Slaughter
We saw the odd repetition of fire just skipping over anything blue here. But did you know that Biden even noticed it? Check this clip out!
