May 3, 2002. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Seven-year old Alexis Patterson is walked to school by her stepfather, who claims that he last sees her crossing the street and heading in the direction of the school playground. Even though numerous students report seeing Alexis crying on the playground that day, she never attends any of her classes and is eventually reported missing. Over the years, investigators explore a number of potential leads and direct some suspicion towards Alexis’ family, but there are no conclusive answers about what happened to her. Was Alexis Patterson the victim of a stranger abduction or do the real answers lie closer to home? On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore an unsolved missing children’s case which recently passed its 20-year anniversary. Special thanks to listener Michelle Matthews for narrating the opening of this episode.

If you have any information about this case, please contact the Milwaukee Police Department at (414) 935-7360 or Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS (8477).

Join us on Saturday, May 28 at 8:00pm ET for an online streaming marathon where we will be watching classic segments from “Unsolved Mysteries”. You can enter our screening room by clicking on this link.
