Professor John G. Kassakian is a Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at MIT, specializing in the areas of power electronics, power systems, and automotive electrical systems. A true pioneer in his field, not only was he the founding president of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, but he also co-authored Principles of Power Electronics (often referred to as KSV), which is one of the most popular textbooks on power electronics.
