This is a list of websites that can help you escape the walled garden.
And sites that have helped me find better options when I was escaping Google.
This is obviously a scale, and you need to gauge that yourself.
list of alt apps
that are basic, and I assume most people use

The order is not important.
I put all the links that strip or have tracking links in them.
The most common apps I see people use: cal sync photos ect..
social media
alternatives, now most people will know the algo is the reason it can shape our internet view.
These platforms and/or protocols don’t follow the same perspective and should be seen as better, more specific spaces rather than competition.
Some will be classified as a protocol.
Some will be classified as platforms.
It is not super important that you understand it at the core level, but that you know the difference.
In plain English, a platform is like Twitter or Facebook.
A protocol is like a set of rules that are baked into the code.
Like e-mail is a protocol, in its nature it is decentralized; e-mail works cross-platform.
You can e-mail gmail to proton, etc., and you have your own domain, so you gain much more control.
Another good reason why protocols are better is that they are more resilient.
Each app will have links and documents to more information.
Whether you decied to use protocol or platform it is up to you.
Not everything has to be black and white.
Remember, if it’s on the internet, it is personal, so I would learn good opsec.

I think both have their pros and cons.
I think it is up to the individual to come to these conclusions.
and most of these sites are somewhat new, so be careful when migrating completely.
