Manage episode 381452068 series 3515736
Hey, welcome to an episode of Crippled by Culture, where we talk about everything in life and relate it to the disability and chronically ill community. My name is Sean Gold and I am an author, advocate, and nonverbal public speaker for the disability community. Today I would like to thank Yuri Velez for being my voice in this episode. In this episode, we are talking about the intersections of disability representation, inclusion, and accessibility in the music industry. Guest Bio: Lachi is a blind multi-award-winning artist, Grammys Board DEI Ambassador and Founder and President of RAMPD.org. She has dedicated her platform, career and craft to amplifying Disability Culture, promoting inclusion and advocating for accessibility in the Music Industry. Lachi has also hosted a PBS American Masters’ segment highlighting disabled renegades, and appeared in several national ads promoting accessibility. Named a “dedicated foot soldier for disability pride” by Forbes, Lachi has held talks with the White House, the UN, and the Kennedy Center, and has been featured in Essence, Billboard and the New York Times for celebrating intersectionality through art and for her upbeat and unapologetic brand of disability pride.
