The Future after Brexit: The EU/UK free trade agreement – opportunities and challenges
Manage episode 314330035 series 3290627
This is part 2 of the conversation between CMS partner John Hammond and Shanker Singham, CEO, Competere, a trade and competition policy consultancy, former trade advisor to the UK Trade Secretary and the US Trade Representative, about the implications of a potential new EU/UK free trade agreement for Germany, Europe and the USA from the perspective of a free trade advocate.
Following a referendum in June 2016 won by the Leave campaign, the UK formally ceased to be a member of the EU on 31 January 2020. EU legislation will cease to apply in the UK once the transition period ends on 31 December 2020. With the future relationship still under negotiation, what are the implications for the UK, the EU and the world? And what lies ahead? John Hammond will discuss issues around the “new normal” in “The Future after Brexit” season of CMS To Go: http://ow.ly/33Oa50B2isf
