Filmed over 7 years, Softie is a documentary film about Kenyan political activitst Boniface Mwangi who journeys over the years from photojournalist, to activist to running for MP of Starehe constituency in Nairobi. The films look at this journey from his perspective and his families perspectives showing the difficulties for both of them.
We discuss this film with the amazing, fellow podcaster Audrey Kawire Wabwire, listen to her podcast Power of the Streets which features young Africans leading human rights activism. In the first season, she speaks to some of the people leading the #metoo movement in Africa.
