Sermon Text: Ephesians 6:5-9
Our work is a practical expression of worship and submission to Christ. Regardless of our employment status, every one of us is working every day, seeking to care for the world, others, and ourselves. Our God-given appointment to be fruitful, multiply, and fill-subdue-rule the earth is a command that we should take with utmost seriousness. Given the devastating effects of our rebellion against God, there are many formidable challenges that we face in this quest, particularly when we perform our work in relationship to others. The good news is that we ultimately serve Christ in our work and this faith produces reverent awe, comfort and eventual reward.
